Here are some things you should know about me:
I graduated from ECU in 1997 with a degree in Elementary Education and Reading K-12 Certification. In 2006, I achieved National Board Certification. This was a very exciting time in my teaching career.
One of my favorite things to do is attend an ECU football game and tailgate with my friends. This will be my 15th year teaching 5th grade. My first 3 years of teaching were at John Small School in Washington, NC. In 2000, I began teaching at Wintergreen Intermediate where I met my husband, Barry. He is the PE teacher at Wintergreen Primary School. We have been married for 8 years, and we have a 6 year son named Blake. He is starting Kindergarten this year at Wintergreen Primary. We live in Stokes, NC with our chocolate lab named Maggie and our rabbit named Thumper.
I love teaching so much! God has given me a wonderful gift, and I give Him all the glory. My favorite subject is math. This year I will be teaching math and science only. You will have Mrs. Griffin for Communication Skills and Social Studies.
I love what I do, and I take my job of being your teacher very seriously! My goal is for you to have a successful school year. Let's get started!!!
